OUR APPROACH
The methodology we follow is built on Application Testing
Standards and Best Practice Techniques. Since we view the
organization as a collection of processes rather than as
a hierarchy of departments, we initiate a project by
identifying the key processes on our client's Value
Chain. This is a critical phase of our work, since this
task actually defines the size, scope and duration of the
Business Process Design project to be implemented.
We then design or redesign processes
in close cooperation with the client's Key Users and Business
Area Experts, using both schematic and descriptive forms
and tools, and produce a complete process-owner oriented
Operations Manual containing Procedures, Activity Diagrams,
Work Instructions, Forms and a Glossary. Throughout the
design phase, all processes and supporting activities are
closely examined and evaluated to make sure they meet specific
business requirements. Process owners are clearly defined
and the relevant steps and means to perform each process
are documented in full.
The client's Key Users and Business Area Experts must formally
approve the Operations Manual upon its completion.
This reinforces their commitment during the implementation
phase and facilitates acceptance by all users.
Implementation of a Business Process System
takes place only when the supporting Line-of-Business application
is ready. Pre-implementation tasks, such as Requirements
Analysis and Software Design, and post-implementation ones,
such as System Testing, production of Users' Manuals and
Software/Process Deployment & Rollout, are the fields
where NIVID's Business Process Design division works hand
in hand with the Software Design and Development division.
This synergy, one of NIVID's greatest strengths, ensures that
Line-of-Business applications, not only accurately support
the prescribed processes, but are also being rolled out
to end users in a controlled and manageable manner with
minimum operational disruption.
