Reliability will come from redundant connections to the server as well as between the main and branch offices.

To improve network reliability redundant switches and hubs must be installed in the network. Switches with Link Aggregation protocol functionality will increase the availability of the network. For more reliability Switches with VLAN and POE functionality should be installed. VLAN will increase the performance of the network and POE (Power over Ethernet) will increase the reliability of both data as well as voice network.

Voice over IP (VoIP) infrastructure integration with data network at main and branch offices will require that network connection has to be very much reliable and available at all the time as it is going to carry both voice and data.

Voice over IP (VoIP) application and protocols must be give higher priority in the network as it requires better QoS than the data traffic.

There should one master server which should be at main office. Than there should be replica servers at each branch office for local authentication, accessing emails (exchange server) and branch office local data access. These servers will synchronize with every day at certain time interval. For accessing the master server data at the main office from the branch offices there should be secure VPN server at main office which will authenticate and allows fast and reliable access to the main office data.

Multiple Backbone Gigabit Ethernet or Fiber Optic server connections will increase the redundancy and availability level of the server at both main and branch offices. So in the event of link failure to the server, redundant link will take over and provide reliable network connection.
