Our aim is “To
provide an excellent ICT infrastructure to support all the
academic and administrative activities of the university
or college”
Unlike 10 years ago, ICT is now prevalent widely
in all activities of the university/college. The great majority
of staff (including teachers, professors, administrative,
managerial, technical, manual and clerical staff) regularly
use ICT in some way. The most obvious example is email,
but also conference room use management, libraries, attendance
and record-keeping, student enquiries, agenda/minutes for
committee meetings, Staff payouts and HR Database, course
websites and many more.
The number of users and the number & variety of machines
plus software is now very large and so old models of support
have had to be revised and replaced with modern and faster
technology.
